There are a number of employees without relevant experience in pasture management working within Virginia Cooperative Extension, federal and state agencies, and agribusiness entities. These employees would benefit from targeted grazing/forage management training events. As part of an extensive training effort, including four web-based modules and online discussions, three in-person trainings were hosted at ARECs across Virginia to make them more accessible to participants. The MARE Center, in collaboration with the Shenandoah Valley AREC, hosted a recent workshop that provided hands-on training on forage and livestock management practices, electric fence utilization, and grazing system design. The program was a huge success and we look forward to future collaborations with the group!
