Keri Rouse

In her role as communications associate, Rouse oversees outreach efforts with an emphasis on sharing stories of the center's impact. Growing up close to nature shaped her appreciation for the natural world; she endeavors to foster these connections to the land and food systems in others to communicate the urgency surrounding environmental challenges today.

Working at the intersection of science and communications, Rouse has over five years of experience in the government and nonprofit sectors, communicating the value of sustainability to different audiences. Supporting conservation programs in Pennsylvania and Hawaiʻi, her work involved planning community engagement efforts to educate and mobilize audiences around environmental issues ranging from invasive species management and citizen science to responsible recreation and stewardship. When she's not immersed in VSAREC happenings, she enjoys disappearing into the woods on runs and hikes and traveling to meet exceptional plants, critters, and bugs.
